Drywall Finishing Options for Meridian Properties

Level 3 under heavy texture

Heavy knockdown or skip trowel can sit on a Level 3 joint. Tool marks hide. Enamel will not. We use this on some garage interiors and on rooms that will take a heavy spray. We do not sell Level 3 as a living-room spec under west glass.

Level 4 production finish

Three coats, sanded, ready for flat or eggshell and a light texture. This is the spec on most south Meridian plats. Joints should not read from five feet. They may still read under a raking can if the paint is dark.

Raking light is not a slogan. We hold a work light parallel to the wall after the finish coat and mark holidays with a pencil. Those marks get another pass. A Level 4 that was never checked in raking light is a Level 3 that got lucky.

Dark paint in a hall with cans is where finish level is decided. If the painter is going dark, we say Level 5 in that hall even if the bedrooms stay Level 4 plus knockdown. Mixing levels in one house is normal. Selling one level for every room is how joints flash in the one room you care about.

Level 4 plus knockdown is the south Meridian default. Enamel kitchens and dark media rooms are a different job. We name the level before we mix.
