Meridian Quality Drywall sends drywall crews to Caldwell, the Canyon County seat about 24 miles west of Boise: campus work, downtown Indian Creek blocks, and the new housing that filled in after 2000.
Caldwell was platted in 1883 for the Oregon Short Line when the grade into Boise was too steep. Irrigation canals made the farms, and the farms made the town. The 2020 population was about 60,000. Indian Creek used to run under downtown in a pipe; it is open again, which is nice for a plaza and irrelevant to a tape joint except that those downtown interiors are older and often a mix of plaster and later gypsum.
College of Idaho and the new east
The College of Idaho sits on a 55-acre campus in town. Older campus and neighborhood houses take repair and popcorn work. The east edge toward Nampa is production drywall: Type X garages, knockdown, the usual pops after the first heating season. Semi-arid summers still cook unconditioned new builds. Call with whether this is the old core or a new plat.

Common questions
Is downtown Caldwell mostly plaster?
The oldest commercial and the blocks near the College of Idaho often are. The subdivisions on the Nampa and Middleton sides are gypsum and knockdown, same as the rest of the valley.
How far west do you send a crew?
Caldwell is on the regular list. Jobs past town toward Greenleaf and Notus depend on the day's routing. Call with the address.
